On the way to the run some funky cloud formations were spotted ... altocumulus I believe which can signal thunderstorms to come later in the day. All was fine and dry with some sunshine at the Som Tam Srinakarin Restaurant, a favourite spot of George of the Jungle, who arrived prior to the run start for a change. He must have thought it was going to begin at 5:15pm.

All of GoJ's previous trails were on the west side of Srinakarin but the Senator had something new in store for us, an eastward heading trail towards Suan Luang Rama 9 Park. We were promised a short run with a few tough checks. It turned out to be a picturesque run with wide boulevards, houses and gardens of the rich and famous, a view of the Chilean Consulate, checks that succeeded in keeping the middle of the pack close to the front running bastards (FRBs), and a little rain to make it interesting.

Then, about midway through the run near the west entrance to the park, the clouds opened up and released a torrential monsoon downpour on us that lasted, fortunately, only about 10 minutes. The FRBs, Horny Viking, Nick and Dick, pressed forward while the mid-pack group huddled under a big umbrella. Wily veteran Ambrose found a taxi and took it back to the start.

When the brief dump ended, most elected to bee-line it back to the piss. Cap'n Erik, Porkfinder, Crash and Sizzler were found sat in chairs under parasols despite the rain barely dripping down.

The circle commenced and The Senator was congratulated for an excellent trail in somewhat new territory for BMH3 and a masterclass in setting tough but solvable checks and other bits of midirection. POTW was awarded to Visitor Dick from Australia.

At the cavernous Som Tam Restaurant, most attended for some delicious Isarn food. The hare generously shared wine with those that wanted some and Here for Beer cracked open a large bottle of Regency Whiskey. And eventually another great evening with the Bangkok Monday Hash came to a close.
