It was a fine day for the Bangkok Monday Hash to run from Sukumvit Soi 8, where we gathered at Tim Joylide's condo in anticipation of a trail through Benjakitti Forest Park, formerly known as the Thai Tobacco Monopoly. I remember how the pungent smells of curing tobacco leaves would waft over the sois, all the way up to lower Sukhumvit when the winds were right. GM Malinee was arriving late so JM The Tickler sent us off on our way down Soi 8.

We had a pleasant trot through the park, and I keep wondering why the hare's never seem to use the skywalks as part of a trail there. Surprisingly Lem's daughter Rhian was able to bring her leashed pooch into the park but had to stick to a special dog walking trail on the perimeter. We crossed over the Tang Rot Fai road and under the expressway to the government housing on the other side and headed northwards for home with the pack being led by FRBs Pig Fokker and PatPom.

As usual, when Joylide is haring, an excellent spread of snacks was laid out before us including everyone's favorite ... cheese. She had even brought down an electric oven to lightly toast the freshly sliced baguette bread.

At the circle, the senator led the vote for visitor Bring Em Young from Utah to be the prick of the week. While doing his down down, he proceeded to snap a couple selfies. I've never seen that done before.

Dinner was held across the street at the very popular Det 5 Bar and Restaurant. Long time Bangkok residents will remember Det 5 being located at Soi Zero or Buckskin Joe's as the long abandoned bar area under the expressway was once called. We sat at a very long table and were able to order whatever we wished to eat or drink. Some night owls amongst us continued drinking late into the evening, well past midnight.
