Run:- 1335 Date:- 20 October 2008.
Location:- Bang Yai Y-junction
Hare:- Diane "Lion King" F.
Scribe:- John McB.Lion King set another run at the Y junction and it turned out to be another good one. The FRB’s came in around 45 minutes, which was just about right considering how dark it’s getting now 45 minutes after the 5:15 start time. Actually in this case the start was delayed 10 minutes or so to wait for the 10 Aussies that had ventured up here en route to Sukothai this weekend. Actually there were also a few other local hashers delayed too. Spinning Dwaft, Sego (and here obnoxious Australian friend), Nono and myself split up the Aussies at the Landmark we tourguided them to the start point. Andrew Murison being the last to arrive with 2 of said Aussies in tow and finally the pack was allowed to take off.
We very quickly came across the ONIN, which was mostly scratched out by some friendly locals. Nonetheless we were able to finally solve this first of many difficult checks. The run covered mostly familiar terrain but we were taken around and around not knowing where we were going and spent a fair amount of time solving difficult checks.
There were some, well probably only one who actually waded through a waist deep puddle to follow the paper to the other side. Our intrepid leader Anal Rape decided to wade through despite Neil, myself and a couple of others running back from the pool to simply run around it. Full marks to the GM for not shortcutting, hmmm then again “what the hell was he thinking????”.
The last of the straggling Aussies meandered in some time over an hour in the darkness but with seemingly no “agro” as they are wont to say. The GM of the Sydney hash was brought into the circle and before he could say anything Noriega blurted out “Hey man, nice body”. Indeed, this man with pride, shirtlessly and somewhere bordering obesity strutted around the circle and without doing a poll, I think it’s safe to say that we all marveled at this man’s physique.
One other Aussie, Sego’s friend in fact blurted out “not enough f*cken hills” when Anal Rape asked “how did you like the run”. Hash Hash, while doing his RA duties pulled the offending (yes another fat) Aussie into the circle and suggested that perhaps he might want to consider running a couple of hills himself. With that and a couple of tummy rubs, the Aussie slunk away.
Overall, a great run and circle. Didn’t make the ononon across the road but I’m sure it was good.***
