Run:- 1331 Date:- 22 September 2008.
Location:- Sri Nakarin Road, Klong Prawet Buri Rom
Hares:- Crash Daly, Non Stop Som and Sugar Daddy
Scribe:- Man Called HorseThere were two very unusual things at tonight's run. Noriega was absent. Faulty Tower was present. Correct, Noriega wasn't there. Probably for the first time since we saw the arrival of the BTS at Saladaeng Station. I heard whispers that he got caught up in some white trash. And Faulty Tower has finally completed taking photographs of all the sois and sub-sois of Sukumvit Road. The longest road in Thailand going all the way from Soi Nana and thereabout to the Cambodian border beyond Koh Chang.
Hare Crash Daly (co-hares Sugar Daddy and Som) didn't reveal the direction of the run but the crowd of some 25 Hasher instantly took to the pathway along the Klong Prawet Buri Rom. Tickler seemingly on steroids and without the armoured west he quickly surged to the front. So quickly that he shot passed the right turn a few hundred meters later. And was not really seen since with the FRBs.
We soon found ourselves in very familiar territory. Almost on the day 12 months ago it was in this very area that Man called Horse set his unforgettable run. From blue skies and sun until 17.00 hours to the biggest shower ever recorded on a BMH3 opening up at 17.29.55 hours. Did you notice that the area was now nicely laid with tarmac. Maybe time for a return. In the dry season.
Tastes Great didn't put a foot right. Was repeatedly charging down the wrong track - just to be called back. Again and again. Just one of those nights where you always get it wrong. Frisky did very well as I noticed she sprinted past a Donut which was not round but more square today. After running away from Klong Prawet Buri Rom we were soon back at the klong. We turned right, crossed the bridge and seemingly heading straight back to Srinakarin Road and the beer. We thought. The track went right and all the way to Onnut for some hundred meters before it was back to the Klong, over the bridge and back to the cold beers.
FRBs in after only 45 minutes. Sugar Daddy was already on his 4th large bottle, and with the 8 down downs I counted during the circle, he set the standard very high on this beautiful dry Monday. Normal had already set up her mobile kitchen and was playing with her Vaio computer. Showing the photos from the recent H3 outing to Sukhothai. Ajarn Kee Mao and No Good Boyo had been pedaling 80 clicks to get to the run where the local populace put up more than a strong performance.
The GM himself suddenly turned up about 20 minutes later than the rest of the pack. He had picked up pace down the stretch of the Klong and appeared to be racing a motorcycle that tried to run him down and into the Klong. He claimed he had checked out the Masjid Massage in the Sex Village that was advertised in stone shortly before the On-In. Thanks to Crash Dee, the Daddy and his Orange.***
On Monday 22 September we had 16 Harriers, 8 Harriettes, 0 new boots and 3 visitors, total = 27. Returners included Sunee “Phoneysex” and Goran “Fawlty Tower” Ehren.
