Run:- 1325 Date:- 11 August 2008.
Location:- Maison Mudguard, Sukhumvit Soi 56
Hares:- Jumpstart and Mudguard
Scribe:- Mudguard (?)In the words of AKM “A Good Effort”. Personally and your scribe is neutral on this I thought it was an excellent evening. It could have been better, but when all the many variables are inserted into the “good run equation” then much worse results have been seen.
Many recces, with an aim to produce a route that would minimize time spent on busy roads. A shade too long (although fortunately nobody did the whole run), the rainstorm obliterating the trail at the halfway .
Points of note:
The hare when seeing the downpour at 1530 disappearing for noodles. Leaving the cohare to finish the job.
The sodden and somewhat sozzled cohare performing his beerspilling trick whilst demonstrating trail paper to the ensemble before the off.
The cohare laying the first check too close to the intrail. Result- Tickler, and Love Canal going round backwards.
The hare, now back on the scene pursuing those going backwards on a motorbike.
The cohare attempting to bribe the grandmaster.
An Australian resident appearing at 1745 , explaining that he’d run from Asoke as he thought Soi 56 was close by! And then setting of back home as he’d missed the start, but promising to reappear next week.
The pack heading in contrary orbits and all getting lost at the halfway mark .Generally most thought the trail was good for an inner city run apart from the missing section at Onnut market. Tickler returned at about 1900 having traveled about 9.5 km backwards.
Down Downs for returners, visitors, a virgin being made Prick of the week, Sunee as a thai weightlifting Olympian, Tickler, and No Meat look alike appearing (how is old Weedeater going to cope with that?), the motorbike hare, and Todd in his deck shoes, the evening wore on to 11pm and as the beer flowed the evening got better.
