Run:- 1324 Date:- 4 August 2008.
Location:- Deli Home Restaurant, Bang Yai
Hare:- No Good Boyo
Scribe:- MudguardYour scribe arrived early, in time to see the Welsh Wizzard (NGB) arrive back from his travails insetting the run, looking well pleased with himself and relaxing with a beer. Maverick then rode in and lodged a feeble complaint about no hash directions for the next run being received. It transpired that his email address is selective and he has opted to prohibit quality incoming mails from Mudguard (Webnerd: Can you blame me for wanting to keep the riff-raff out of my Inbox?).
1730 and with the arrival of Love Canal’s ambulance the Man in Charge; theTickler decided he’d seen and heard enough and called the pack together to receive the Hare’s address followed by the off. A few including the Ajan started late, but soon caught up.
The trail rapidly entered orchards and greenery around Bang Kruai interspersed with short stretches on concrete and latterite . A nice piece of footwork by Maverick who by a whisker just managed to stay on a muddy bank and avoid an early bath. A very dodgy wooden bridge which slowed the whole pack. A series of clever loops (characteristic of this hare ). An ant infested section followed by a bridge where Sego slapped poor old mudguard down when simply asked to remove an ant from his back – is she a dominatrix in her spare time?
A very good run about 9 km for most, which equates to about 10.5 km for Tickler.
Circle. Down downs for the returners, Minnie for his literary prowess, then love canal stepped forward and awarded Tickler a kevlar jacket, and Prick of the Week awarded to a visiting Phillipina.
On On turnout a bit disappointing as the Hare had layed on a spread. The Hare by now boasting of how he’d been in various scraps, caught the fish we were eating, and mace’d three dogs whilst setting the run. Tickler by now inseparable from his new jacket although this was possibly as much due to velcro’d padding as to genuine affection for Love Canal’s gift?
Various conversational gems as the evening wore on....4x2’s demonstration of how to shake off taxi agents at the airport arrival hall by just walking through as he normally does, and No No’s titbit about his partner coming in around midnite from her hairdressing activities were a couple I recall,-- sadly the rest Ive forgotten.
All in all another good Monday evening . Thank you No Good Boyo
