Run:- 1304                   Date:- 17 March 2008.
Location:- The Unfinished Bridge Homestay
Hare:- 4x2
Scribe:- ?

[This report was faxed by this week's “scribe” who claims he did not have access to a computer. However it was typed. Work that one out.]

One of Crash Daly's many beer trucks arrived driven by Normal. Some hashers noticed that one of the tyres was rather flat but never mind, it was full of beer which was the most important thing.  The hare warned the pack that a nasty amount or serious shiggy was avoidable but one or two people may have to go through it.

The 40 minute trail was well laid in familiar territory but with enough twists and checks to keep people together and confused. We left the Homestay on a track to a klong path, and took a left. False Trail. Back to the right and up the klong path the the first check below the road to the unfinished bridge. On On up a small road, past a pack of nasty dogs and a big false trail again, by which time many of the pack had caught up. Over some black charred burned out rice fields and to the left up through some shiggy (not the shiggy that the hare warned us about). Check. The real trail went onto the road, where some short cutters were walking and along another klong path. After 200m of klong path the path ended, with an arrow to the other side of the klong. Frank and Tom Sorensen were caught out. The trail continued to another check near a plastic recycling factory. Back along the klong again, we came onto the main north south klong where we started. Another check and the paper headed north, then followed a side klong with an arrow into what looked like possible shiggy. It was, and Joylide went in waist deep. Most others decided to go on and catch up with the trail a hundred metres on. The trail led through a number of loops and checks in very pretty rice fields and banana plantations. Then back onto the main klong again and on in.

Bogdiver arrived with another Dutchman. He didn't run but complained about the long time before the circle because HE had to leave for dinner. Maybe Bog ought to join the Neil and Lynda school of winging about pre-circle time.

Bruised Willy came in after 1 hour and a half after 10.4km (the actual trail was 6km) having got completely lost. As our #2 RA, he gave one down down and passed the circle back to the GM. Well giving out one beer in 10 weeks is a rasonable start. Maybe he can make a full RA spot by the time the year is up.

Good circle and then onto the ononon in the Homestay. Captain Eric, The Tickler, GM, Ajarn Chemo and Bruised Willy all found the sitting on the floor concept a bit much. 200 Baht ononon which went on quite late. Good hash. Thank you.

Editor's additional notes. The ononon went on past midnight, with the usual late crew in attendance – Todd, AKM, GM. A frantic 'phone call at past midnight from our Hash Piss about the rubber from the truck coming completely “off”. We found the distressed car 1km down the road near the u-turn. Note the friendly local man wearing a Bangkok Monday Hash motorcycle taxi jacket.
