Last week's run was set from Wat Kaew Pitak by Eat Me
although I suspect that her husband had some involvement in the trail. The
hare was not in sight at the start of the run but the paper was spotted
along the klong path. We took the main klong path down into the open area
behind the temple. The first check was a false trail, the actual trail going
straight on and following the path of a large pond or two. There were large
birds everywhere in this very remote area that backs onto a housing project.
The trail went of into some cow pasture, another false trail and then
through a small village.
The hares had put a notice to close the gate behind us as
puzzled villgers looked on as we ran through their back garden. Then onto
another klong path and another false trail. We missed the paper going
straight ahead, into another pondy area, we passed goats, more cattle and
ended up back on the klong path we had just come from. Another check, and
right towards the mosque. The hares drew our attention to a mark in teh
concrete. Someone at a previous time had drawn an “HHH ->” in teh wet
concrete, but the arrow was in teh wrong direction. Around and through the
mosque and back onto the road. Here we came across a bunch of young hashers
running in the wrong direction, why was this.? Maybe they came late We
crossed some more fields and ended up in a small copse with what looked like
no way out. Following the paper, we found our way through a gap, onto the
concrete path and On In. A very good run with a nice refreshing use of a
well run area.
Back at the beer, we were treated to (and constantly
reminded of) fresh Herring that Sir Bogdiver had brought back from his trip
to Europe. Kim Normal had provided some very nice snacks as had Tim Daly.
Our Grand Master took control and the circle was assembled
less than a minute after he called it. Is he finally taking control? It
looks that way. Kim Normal was introduced as the new Piss Mistress. Our new
RA Bruised Willy took over the circle, did a few funny down downs and then
passed us over to the expereinced AKM. Lets' hear more from Kevin next time.
He did a great job. POTW went to a visitor from Japan and Alastair gallently
drank the down down for her.
I did not make it to the OnOnOn but hear that it was well
attended, delicious and excellent value.
