Run:- 1216.   Date:- 10 July 2006.
Location:- Under the Hash Bridge
Hare:- Teerachai - The Pink Panther
Scribe:- George "Of the Jungle" Morgan

Unusually the light public holiday traffic allowed me to get to Pink Panther’s run site under the Hash Bridge on time. Most hashers had obviously jetted off to Berlin for the World Cup final as I was greeted by a rather motley group. Soon we were loaded into two songthaews for the ride to the B site. Pink Panther generously laid on a third songthaew for late comers but this turned out to be unnecessary, since I was already there. The ride was punctuated by Deep Shag’s desperate attempts to get a rise out of her old man by giving Hags a lap dance. The songthaews soon went off the beaten track, twisting and turning deeper and deeper into darkest Nonthaburi, while torrential rain splattered in through the songthaew’s sun roof and Deep Shag continued her ritual dance. It seemed as if this journey into the heart of darkness would never end but suddenly we were abruptly tipped out of the songthaews into the pouring rain. Deep Shag’s ministrations had apparently not been a raging success as Hags was able to stand quite normally without any obvious tumescence.

At first it seemed that Pink Panther had laid the trail with dollops of fried rice which had been deposited every 10 yards – a novel concept which can serve to feed local soi dogs as well as guide hashers. Then some chalked arrows and clumps of very soggy paper became evident. Pink Panther had managed to cover some fairly virgin territory and the trial meandered through a lot of jungle and coconut groves – scenery easy on the eye. About 20 minutes into the run I slipped off a muddy paying stone and twisted my ankle painfully. Soon I was unable to keep up and the cries of the pack faded into the distance. So remote was the area that I had to limp about 6 km before I could find a taxi to take me back to the run site. In fact I soon realized that I was nearly back to the Hash Bridge and had probably covered nearly the same distance as the pack. I had not seen much of the actual trail but it was obvious that Pink Panther had done an excellent job in setting a run through an unspoiled part of Nonthaburi.

Down downs were awarded to: Double O Dirk, a visitor from China; Hags and Deep Shag for their lap dance; George of the Jungle for coming early due to the fact that the stock market was closed (although for some reason it was actually open); plus others that I can’t remember. A highly creditable on on on took place in a small restaurant beyond the Dairy Queen only marred by the visitor from China being roundly abused by Kim Normal for having the temerity to ask for a glass of wine which he thought was included in the cost of the dinner.

Thanks to Pink Panther for a great hash.
